Tanzania Ports Authority
The WiA Group affiliate companies are in the process of providing a wireless voice and data platform for TPA’s headquarters and offices and will soon begin to construct a full turn-key wireless network, connecting all the ports within the TPA’s system. In addition to local freight, TPA serves as the port of entry for several other countries that are landlocked including Uganda, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation
Having already provided connectivity to TBC’s metro network, The WiA Group affiliate companies are in the process of connecting TBC’s country wide network and broadcasting facilities with local television stations throughout Tanzania. The immediate practical application of the new network will be to provide timely and accurate monitoring of the up coming national elections in October.
Airtel (ZAIN)
WiA Group, pursuant to their recently finalized Wimax Partnership with Airtel (formerly ZAIN) has over 27 clients with more than 100 locations countrywide being deployed. The strategic alliance with Airtel will strengthen both company’s ability to deliver converged solutions countrywide and will serve as a platform for future collaborations.
MetroNet
The WiA Group has recently been invited to join a consortium of telecom companies to build and operate the Fiber Metro Network for Dar es Salaam. The WiA Group through its affiliates is in a prime position to finance, construct and manage the network on behalf of the consortium. The network will serve as an alternative and back-up network to the government controlled existing network.
ATM Service Solutions
The WiA Group is exploring the establishment of providing independent ATM services to predominantly non bank-branch, retail locations in a simple and cost effective manner. This could be made possible through a joint venture with ATM Solutions of SA that has successfully been providing such services throughout southern Africa since 1999. We are also considering issuing bank-cards as well as POS acquiring, online processing and EFT management.
